GABRIEL S. CHAO

Mr. Chao is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Department. His practice is focused on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, financing, and leasing of commercial properties. He assists and advises real estate investment trusts (REITs), life insurance companies, real estate funds and other institutional clients and public companies on real estate matters (such clients include Fischer Properties, Seligman Western Enterprises, Brandywine Realty Trust, Oracle Corporation, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Google, Inc., Synopsys, Inc., Wareham Development Corporation and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investments).

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Mr. Chao is a member of the Real Property Section of the California State Bar and the Bar Association of San Francisco. He is also a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International, the Belden Club Real Estate Organization, and the San Francisco Real Estate Exchange (SFREX). Mr. Chao is also actively involved with the Bay Area Mortgage Association (BAMA).

EDUCATION

Mr. Chao received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998, where he graduated with distinction, and his J.D. from the UC Davis - Martin Luther King, Jr. School of Law in 2001.
