Ms. Draper specializes in business litigation matters. She has extensive courtroom, trial, and arbitration experience, including oral argument and witness examination in multi-million dollar cases involving breaches of contract, unfair competition, partnership disputes, fraud, breaches of fiduciary duty, intellectual property disputes, accounting matters, and more. She has successfully represented a wide range of clients, including large and small public and private companies, government entities, and individuals.

At Northwestern, Ms. Draper was an Articles Editor for the Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property and worked for the Center on Wrongful Convictions.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Draper received a grant from the Owen L. Coon Foundation to study South Africa’s restorative justice practices. While working in South Africa with the Restorative Justice Centre, she conducted field research, developed the first comprehensive overview and report of the restorative justice movement in South Africa, and contributed to the Centre’s publication of Charting Progress, Mapping the Future: Restorative Justice in South Africa (2006).

Some recent cases include the following:

Won a roughly $10 Million arbitration award on behalf of a large-scale solar and energy storage developer, while completely defeating counterclaims asserted by outside investors seeking damages of $800 Million and control of the company.

Won a $23 Million jury verdict (plus attorneys’ fees) on behalf of plaintiffs in a conversion and breach of contract case, while completely defeating counterclaims that sought more than $80 Million for breach of an alleged partnership agreement.

Represented a multi-national manufacturer in a patent dispute that resolved successfully prior to trial.

Won a $3 Million jury verdict (plus attorneys’ fees) on behalf of real estate brokers who were owed a commission on a high-tech campus transaction, while completely defeating claims of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty against those brokers.

Obtained a $1 Million private arbitration award in favor of a client asserting various breaches of fiduciary duties, while completely defeating allegations of professional misconduct.

Ms. Draper served on the Board of Directors for the AIDS Legal Referral Panel from 2012 through 2022.
