SIMONE M. KATZ-O'NEILL

Ms. Katz-O’Neill joined the Firm in 2006 as an associate in the Litigation Department. She specializes in contracts and business torts litigation, intellectual property litigation, and other business litigation.

Her practice also focuses on intellectual property law and includes trademark counseling, prosecution, and brand protection; and copyright counseling, registration, and enforcement for clients in a variety of industries, including the food and wine, clothing and apparel, medical device, art, computer software, and e-commerce industries.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Ms. Katz-O’Neill is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association (SFIPLA), American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and a Panel Attorney for California Lawyers for the Arts. She is also the Trademark Co-Chair and Job Fair Co-Chair of the SFIPLA and a past contributor to the AIPLA Trademark Litigation Committee’s Quarterly Reports.

EDUCATION

Ms. Katz-O'Neill earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley and membership in Phi Beta Kappa in 2001. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2006. While at Hastings, Ms. Katz-O'Neill was a member of the Thurston Society; served as an extern to the Honorable Thelton E. Henderson, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the Honorable Peter Busch, San Francisco Superior Court; and served as a research assistant to the Academic Dean. She was a seven-time recipient of the CALI award and Witkin award for excellence in Civil Procedure, Environmental Law, California Appellate Process, Insurance, Mediation, Trial Advocacy I, and Trademark Prosecution.
