Mr. Kennedy is a partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Department. His practice is focused on commercial real estate transactions, including extensive experience in leasing on behalf of both REITs and other institutional owners of commercial real estate (including Brandywine Realty Trust, NAPI REIT, Inc., Morgan Stanley, The Paramount Group and ING), as well as tenants, including some of the country’s largest high-technology companies, such as Oracle Corporation, Google, Inc., Synopsys, Inc., and Infospace, Inc. Mr. Kennedy’s practice also includes the acquisition of raw and developed land on behalf of developers and end-users (for example, the acquisition of sites for corporate campus developments, and the subsequent negotiation of construction and management agreements), as well as the sale of office and other commercial properties.
Mr. Kennedy’s clients include real estate investment trusts, insurance companies, publicly traded and privately held technology companies, as well as individuals.
Mr. Kennedy has lectured on real estate matters on behalf of the California State Bar, BOMA International, Nacor and others. For several years, Mr. Kennedy has been named a Super Lawyer in California along with several of his colleagues at Shartsis Friese LLP. He has also been included in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Kennedy received an A.B. degree from Lawrence University in 1983 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1987.
