CAROLYN S. REISER
Ms. Reiser is a partner in the Firm’s Business Department. She joined the firm in 1994 and become a partner in 1998.
Ms. Reiser’s practice is focused on representing investment advisers. Her services include organizing and structuring investment management firms and U.S. and offshore private investment funds, and negotiating and documenting investment advisory agreements with institutional investors and global asset management platforms. She counsels investment advisers on federal and state regulatory issues and assists them with regulatory examinations and ongoing compliance matters. She also provides advice about a broad range of general business matters that arise for investment advisers, including employment, consulting, compensation, licensing, strategic planning and marketing arrangements.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Ms. Reiser is a member of the Business Law Sections of the California State Bar and the American Bar Association.
EDUCATION
Ms. Reiser received a B.A. degree, summa cum laude, and an M.A. with honors in philosophy from Yale University. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Frankfurt, Germany and received a J.D. from Yale Law School. Before attending law school, she worked as a securities analyst for Fred Alger Management in New York. Early in her career, Ms. Reiser was associated with Morrison & Foerster LLP in San Francisco, California.
