Mr. Stein joined the Firm in 2008 as an associate in the Litigation Department. Before joining the Firm, Mr. Stein served as a legal research attorney to the Honorable John E. Munter in the complex litigation department of the San Francisco Superior Court.
Mr. Stein is admitted to practice law in California.
Mr. Stein received his B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science in 2004 from the University of California, Irvine, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree, cum laude, in 2007 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. While at Hastings, Mr. Stein was the managing editor of the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly and served as an extern to the Honorable John E. Munter and the Honorable Katherine Feinstein of the San Francisco Superior Court. He was a two-time recipient of the CALI award and Witkin award for excellence in California Civil Procedure and Patent and Trade Secrets. Mr. Stein authored “When the Meaning of ‘Plain Error’ Isn’t So Plain: Deciphering Plain Error in the Context of Booker,” 33 Hastings Const. L. Q. 447 (2006).
