Howard and Frolik Elevated to Partner

Shartsis Friese LLP announced today that Erick C. Howard and James J. Frolik will become equity partners in the firm effective January 1, 2007.

Erick Howard’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation. He also has substantial experience related to technology transactions and recently has been representing Governor Schwarzenegger in prison reform issues. Mr. Howard was an associate with Sidley & Austin and Cooley Godward before joining Shartsis Friese in 2002. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1996 and his B.S. from Northwestern in 1993 where he was Phi Beta Kappa.

Jim Frolik joined the firm out of law school in 2000, and is a member of the firm’s investment adviser and hedge fund practice. Shartsis Friese is widely recognized as the leading law firm for hedge funds on the West Coast. Mr. Frolik received his J.D. from UC Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 2000 where he was Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. with high honors from UC Berkeley in 1997.
