Shartsis Friese Expands Family Wealth Practice
Daniel and Dan join Shartsis from Clare Springs & Associates in San Francisco and have expertise assisting clients with complex trust, estate and related tax issues. Their experience includes estate and tax planning, drafting wills and trust agreements, and administering estates and trusts.

Prior to joining Clare Springs & Associates, Mr. Redman was an associate at a Northern California firm focusing on estates, trusts, and elder law. He has spoken on elder issues across the country, and in 2012 was appointed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to the City’s LGBT Aging Policy Task Force. In 2016, the National LGBT Bar Association honored Mr. Redman as one of the “Best LGBT Lawyers under 40.”
Mr. Redman received his J.D. from the University of California – Berkeley Law School where he was an Articles Editor of the California Law Review. He received his B.A. with honors in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University, where he was a Woodrow Wilson Undergraduate Research Fellow.
Prior to joining Springs & Associates, Mr. Porter was an associate at Andersen Tax in San Francisco where he was a member of the Private Client Services group. He focused on assisting high net worth individuals and multi-generational family groups with tax planning and income tax compliance.
Mr. Porter and received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law where he also received a Tax Law Certificate. He received his B.A. in philosophy from UCLA.
