Shartsis Friese Elevates Three to Partnership

October 24, 2016 – San Francisco – Shartsis Friese LLP is pleased to announce it has elevated three attorneys to partnership.  Two litigation attorneys, Kajsa Minor and Joe Mauch, along with real estate attorney David Egdal, will join the partnership effective January 1, 2017.

Kajsa and Joe both joined the firm as Summer Associates in 2006 and have spent their entire legal careers with Shartsis Friese.  David joined the firm in March, 2015 from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in San Francisco.

David Egdal represents institutional and non-institutional lenders, REITS, borrowers and investors in all areas of real estate, including: forming and representing limited liability companies and other joint ventures, mortgage and mezzanine financing, repurchase and other leverage facilities, and acquisitions and dispositions of commercial, hotel, multi-family residential, winery and vineyard properties.  He received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2003, and previously served as a paramedic with the San Francisco Fire Department.

Joe Mauch has extensive experience in a number of areas of business litigation, with a particular focus on intellectual property litigation.  His practice also focuses on counseling clients in a variety of industries in intellectual property law, in particular trademark and copyright counseling, trademark prosecution, and brand protection.  He has worked with clients ranging from large public companies to small start-ups to individuals.  He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2007.

Kajsa Minor is a business litigator with extensive trial experience.  Her focus is business litigation involving business torts, breach of fiduciary duty claims, partnership and contract disputes, as well as intellectual property disputes, including patent litigation.  Kajsa has represented departments of the State of California, large public companies, small business owners, start-ups, and individuals.  She earned a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2007.
