Shartsis Friese LLP is pleased to announce that Dana Kennedy has joined the firm as a Partner in its Real Estate Practice.

Dana is that lawyer with more than a decade of experience on real estate matters across the Bay Area and statewide. We are thrilled to welcome her to our team,” said Shartsis Friese Managing Partner Neil Koren.

Kennedy advises real estate developers, investors, and other clients on a wide range of land use matters and real estate transactions, including zoning, planning, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Her practice focuses on processing entitlements, supervising the preparation and approval of environmental documentation, and negotiating transactional documents associated with land use, project development, and construction, including public/private partnership agreements.
For three consecutive years, Kennedy has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America in the Land Use and Zoning and Real Estate categories. With more than 12 years in private practice, she joins Shartsis Friese from an East Bay real estate law firm. In law school, she worked with the Michigan Law School Community and Economic Development Clinic, advising small business and non-profit organizations dedicated to the economic revitalization of Detroit, Michigan in connection with their land use needs. She also clerked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego.
Kennedy received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School (2013) and her B.A. in political science, cum laude, from Wake Forest University (2009).
