Shartsis Friese Adds Jason Rabbitt-Tomita as Partner

Former Broadcom Dealmaker and Big Law Alumni Joins Corporate Group

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 5, 2026: Shartsis Friese LLP today welcomed Jason Rabbitt-Tomita, an experienced dealmaker with a wealth of mergers and acquisitions experience, to its corporate group.

With more than 23 years of dealmaking experience, Rabbitt-Tomita was previously head of M&A legal for Broadcom Inc. Prior to going in-house, he was a partner with several Am Law 100 law firms, including Baker Botts and Paul Hastings in Palo Alto, Calif., where he headed up technology M&A teams. Rabbitt-Tomita also spent several years of his early career practicing corporate law in the Tokyo offices of U.S. firms.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the caliber of talent we’re attracting to Shartsis Friese – and Jason is a perfect example: sophisticated legal and business experience, a track record of success, and an appreciation for delivering flexible and highly personalized service,” said Shartsis Friese Managing Partner Neil Koren. “We’re kicking off 2026 by supplementing our team with exactly the sort of lawyer that our clients have come to expect from us over the last five decades.”

“The Shartsis corporate team is ideally sized for handling the kinds of deals that sophisticated tech clients in this hotly competitive region demand – direct partner access, flexible and customized services, and an array of adjacent practices that can be tapped to get deals done,” said Rabbitt-Tomita.

Rabbitt-Tomita earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School (2002). He attended UC Berkeley School of Law during his third year of law school, focusing on intellectual property coursework. Rabbit-Tomita earned his B.A. in East Asian Studies, magna cum laude, from Brown University (1998) and was an exchange student with Stanford’s Kyoto Center for Japanese Studies (1996-1997).
