Metz counsels clients of all sizes across different sectors solve their tax problems in business transactions. He advises on mergers and acquisitions, operating agreements, investment fund formation, entity tax structuring, and opportunity zones. Over the past five years, Metz has worked on more than 200 M&A transactions, with typical deal sizes ranging from $20M to $75M. Most recently with a tax-focused legal boutique, he began his career as a corporate tax attorney with a pair of Big Law firms.
Metz is listed among the “Super Lawyers” for 2025, and he has been on the Southern California Super Lawyers’ “Rising Stars” list from 2020-2023. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he was a Kirschbaum Tax Scholar and received the Bruce I. Hochman Award for Excellence in Tax Law. He earned his B.A., with honors, in psychology and economics from Northwestern University.
