Shartsis Friese LLP is seeking a senior corporate tax attorney (partner or counsel) to advise clients in the taxation of partnerships, limited liability companies, offshore entities, and complex financial transactions, in connection with the Firm’s extensive practice of representing investment advisers, hedge funds, real estate funds and venture capital funds. The candidate will work closely with the members of the Firm’s investment advisory practice in the representation of investment adviser clients. The candidate will also counsel high net worth individuals and multi-generational family groups on estate planning tax matters.
Candidates should possess 8 to 10 years of corporate tax transactional experience superior academic credentials from nationally recognized law schools, as well as demonstrably superior legal writing skills.
Shartsis Friese LLP is seeking an attorney with at least 3-5 years of experience counseling clients on data protection and privacy issues, including data breach response, cybersecurity risk management, and consumer and employee privacy. The attorney will work with our Intellectual Property and Corporate department attorneys to assist with negotiating technology transactions including cloud services, SaaS, master services, licensing, strategic alliances, joint ventures, and other collaboration and partnering arrangements, as well as acquisitions and spin-offs. The successful candidate should be well-versed in federal and state privacy and data security-related legislation and regulations, particularly with respect to the California Consumer Privacy Act, and should be familiar with similar international regulatory schemes such as the GDPR.

Shartsis Friese LLP is seeking an associate attorney with approximately two to three years of experience in investment management law and/or corporate transactional and securities law experience for a partnership track position in our top-rated and nationally prominent Investment Funds & Advisers Group. The Investment Funds & Advisers Group works with hundreds of private funds and investment advisers in a cutting edge practice. Prior private fund or Investment Advisers Act experience is a plus, but not a prerequisite. Significant securities law experience is required.
