REAL ESTATE ASSOCIATE
Shartsis Friese’s Chambers-ranked real estate group is seeking two real estate associates with 2 to 5 years’ experience in commercial real estate transactions, including debt financing, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, development work, leasing, and title and survey matters. Candidates should have strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in learning. They should be able to collaborate with colleagues but also handle significant individual responsibilities. Successful candidates will have demonstrably superior legal writing skills and should possess exceptional academic credentials from nationally recognized law schools. The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $220,000 to $290,000 per year. Actual salary will depend upon several factors, including, but not limited to, law school class year, relevant experience, job-related skills, and qualifications. Our billable hours target (including pro-bono time and certain administrative time) is 1850 hours. Significant bonuses are given to associates who bill 1950 hours or more. Candidates should be a member in good standing of the California Bar.
LITIGATION ASSOCIATE – ENVIRONMENTAL LITIGATION
Shartsis Friese LLP is seeking an associate attorney with approximately three years of solid environmental litigation and counseling experience for a partnership track position in our Litigation Department. Candidates should have experience assisting clients in environmental matters involving state and federal environmental laws, including laws regulating hazardous and solid waste, water, air and endangered species, as well as California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) issues. Experience with land use litigation is a plus. Work will include environmental litigation, administrative enforcement matters, and counseling regarding environmental permitting, due diligence and compliance. Successful candidates will have demonstrably superior legal writing skills and want to perform substantive legal work including drafting pleadings/motions, drafting and responding to written discovery, managing document discovery, taking/defending depositions, and arguing motions, in addition to counseling clients on environmental matters.
The anticipated annual base salary wage range the Firm reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $235,000 to $265,000. The final annual base salary wage offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience in the job, type and years of experience in the industry, education, and other factors.
