Active in both New York and California, Scott Schneider advises commercial landlords and tenants in leasing transactions to complement their overarching business strategies.

Prior to joining the firm, Scott practiced real estate law in New York City for more than a decade, and he is currently licensed in both California and New York.

Scott represents clients in a wide range of real property lease transactions, including office, build-to-suit, research and development, and retail facilities. He has particular experience handling leasing transactions on behalf of technology companies — from startups to mature publicly traded corporations, including some of the world’s largest and best-known ventures.

Handling some of the most significant leasing transactions on both coasts, Scott negotiated the largest office lease in San Francisco in 2019, the second largest office lease in New York City in 2020, and the largest office lease in the Silicon Valley in 2022.

While practicing in New York City, Scott covered the Westminster Dog Show for the Wall Street Journal as a side hustle with his best friend from college (then the sports editor for the Journal) and takes great pride in his daughter Sophie being able to name rare breeds faster than he can.

  • Represented one of the world’s largest social media companies in the negotiation of a long-term, multibuilding campus sublease – the largest office lease in the Silicon Valley in 2022.
  • Negotiated a midtown-Manhattan office lease on behalf of one of the world’s largest social media companies – the second largest office lease in New York City in 2020.
  • Negotiated a build-to-suit HQ lease in San Francisco on behalf of a well-known technology company – the largest office lease in San Francisco in 2019.
  • Negotiated San Francisco and Silicon Valley office leases on behalf of one of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms.
  • Advising a cutting-edge American luxury electric vehicle manufacturer on its corporate, R&D and retail facilities.
  • Counseled a G8 government regarding its lease for a New York City consular office.
  • Negotiated a lease for an industrial biotech facility on behalf of a leading cell therapy manufacturer.

  • Advising a blue-chip, publicly traded U.S. investment fund on its leasing of a multibuilding biotech campus in Alameda, California.
  • Counseling a blue-chip, publicly traded real estate investment fund on its office and retail leasing programs at multiple prominent Class A office buildings in San Francisco.
  • Negotiated a long-term lease of a 200,000-square-foot asset in Sunnyvale, California, one of the largest office leases in Silicon Valley in 2021.
  • Negotiated a long-term net lease of a 25-story, 400,000-square-foot Manhattan office building to New York University for conversion into a teaching hospital – a transaction nominated for the Real Estate Board of New York’s 2016 Most Ingenious Deal of the Year
