We assist clients with a wide range of real estate needs, including:
- Acquisitions and Dispositions
- Corporate Facilities
- Loans, Joint Ventures, Workouts, and Enforcement Actions
- Real Estate Fund Formation
Our real estate clients include institutional owners and managers of office, retail, hotel, winery, vineyard and mixed use projects across the country, multinational corporations, domestic and foreign banks, insurance companies, hospital systems, domestic and international investment funds, real estate investment trusts, commercial developers and Bay Area civic and educational institutions.
We provide a wide range of representation to these clients, including assisting them in acquiring, planning, structuring, constructing, joint venturing, financing, leasing and disposing of real estate assets. We also represent lenders and borrowers in the origination of secured loans and the work out and enforcement of distressed mortgage and mezzanine loans (including real property foreclosures and dispositions pursuant to the Uniform Commercial Code), as well as landlords and tenants in the restructuring of lease obligations. In addition, we represent numerous foreign companies and major technology companies in connection with their real estate and facilities matters, including the development of their corporate campuses and other facilities, including data centers and other priority real estate assets, as well as the leasing and management of sites in every part of the country.
Members of the Real Estate Group have been invited to lecture throughout the country on all aspects of real estate development and financing, including commercial real estate lending, enforcement and workouts, joint ventures and hybrid debt-equity investments, commercial leasing, purchase and sale agreements, construction and mechanic’s lien law, landlord and tenant issues, bankruptcy and title insurance.
In addition, as the need arises in complex transactions, the real estate group calls upon the expertise of the firm’s business lawyers, tax lawyers and intellectual property lawyers and also works closely with the firm’s Real Estate Litigation Group in handling a variety of disputes involving real property.
